What is Wattpad?
Due to the ease with which authors may publish their work on Wattpad, it has been compared to the Youtube of writing. This has to be my favorite way to describe the social media platform since it perfectly expresses how participatory it is.
To make their novels available to consumers, authors can submit either the finished product or a draft. A book must be uploaded chapter per chapter because it cannot be uploaded as a single file.
Since there is no opportunity to purchase content on Wattpad, all users are completely free to use it. As a result, authors are effectively giving away their work for free.
How does Wattpad work?
Everyone with a passion for reading should use Wattpad. Making an account just only a few minutes and involves coming up with a username, uploading a photo, and providing some basic information about yourself.
Adding searchable keywords, images, and videos to a chapter after the author posts it on the website gives them the chance to alter it. There is also the ability to add an external link to your book under the “Advanced” tab area.
Having said that, you may (and you should) provide external links to your book on your profile page and in any comments you post on your book or chapter. For instance, if a reader asks where they can find more of your work, you may add the URL in your response and direct them to your Amazon page or author website.
Wattpad should be handled as a social networking website since that is essentially what it is in the end. To put it another way, if you’re ready to take a methodical approach, you can reap some rewards.
