WHAT IS APPLE MUSIC?
Following Apple’s acquisition of Beats Electronics in 2014, which featured the now-defunct Beats Music subscription service, Apple Music was released in 2015.
You can access all of your music—whether it was bought from iTunes, copied from a CD, or downloaded from the internet—in one location and on all of your devices with the help of the Apple Music service. This includes any tune from the iTunes collection that is available for on-demand streaming.
Additionally, the streaming service provides suggestions based on your interests, internet radio (such as the Apple Music 1 (previously Beats 1) radio station), the option to download music to your device for offline listening, expert-curated playlists, integration with the Siri virtual assistant on iOS devices, and features like Lyrics view.
HOW DOES APPLE MUSIC WORK?
Apple Music comes with a number of built-in features, controls, and choices. Here are a few significant ones to keep in mind:
Play music: A miniplayer will show up at the bottom of the screen when you press any play button on a playlist, a specific song, or an album.
Use Siri: Siri may be instructed to randomly select songs from an album or playlist. Additionally, new playlists that can be managed by Siri are on the way. For this, you might, for instance, ask Siri to organize the music for a dinner party.
Search: To search for certain genres, artists, albums, or songs, tap the magnifying glass icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. Both your personal music and Apple Music are searchable.
Build library: To add an album or playlist to your library, do a search for an artist, such as Drake, then choose a song from their catalog. Alternatively, you may press the three dots next to a song to access the “Add to Library” menu. In addition, tapping the three dots brings up the “Download” menu, which enables offline listening.
Edit playlists: Any song or album may be added to a playlist by touching the three-dot (more choices) button on the Now Playing screen and choosing Add to a Playlist.
Share music: Any song or playlist’s share button in the three dots menu may be used to copy a link, send it through email or text message, or post to Facebook or Twitter.
Hear Apple Music 1: Click on the show that is now airing or any of the highlighted shows under the Radio category. The radio page will display what is currently playing as well as a list of forthcoming events and DJs.
Listen offline: You may download copies of any songs, albums, or playlists that are currently available on Apple Music to your devices. If you’re going to be outside of range, it’s useful.
Your account: The Listen Now tab’s upper right corner contains a profile logo. To manage notifications, update your membership, discover what your friends are listening to, and access account-related options, simply tap it.
